Friday Afternoon Snack

So this past weekend my suitemates and I were sitting outside listening to music and talking – a pretty standard occurrence on Friday afternoon.  We were minding our own business when, from the heavens it seems, dropped a little surprise.  Our chairs were positioned in a circle – and all of a sudden a container of delicious Alouette brie landed right in the center.  Of course, our immediate reaction is to look up to see where it came from – no sign of anyone. So my roommate picks up the container in order to examine it – still cold, not expired, only half eaten.  So naturally, we start looking around for something to dip in the cheese.  We then get another pleasant surprise – a box of Triscuits. We look up, still no one, the box, only half eaten.  Now I ask you – is it possible for a Friday afternoon to start any better?  I think not.  However, I’m still puzzled as to why someone would just hand (or drop) this delightful treat to us. Perhaps, they were just being nice – or maybe it was an apology for the roughly 3 cases of empty beer cans that magically fell into our yard the night before – or they were just tired of eating cheese and Triscuits – whatever the case may be, Thomas 372 thanks you.

Wake-Up Call

So at about 3am on Monday morning I was startled by a thundering crash - well, more so, a thud.  No questions as to where it came from, my dorm room's backyard.  I sit up, lifelessly check my phone, and fall immediately back to sleep.  This is roughly the 4th time I've been awaken by roughly the same sound - needless to say, the excitement in finding out what has fallen into my backyard has faded.  Anyways, I woke up at 9am that morning - I started my day the same way I always do, taking a step outside and unleashing a deep yawn.  This day was a bit different, as there was a little surprise waiting for me:

Seeing this chair brings about a variety of questions - like what would have happened if I decided to go for a walk around 3am? Or, what situation led to this chair being thrown off a balcony? Did whoever tossed this chair ever expect to get it back? Infinite questions…no answers.  But that's ok!  We are up one chair (it didn't break) and no one decided to go on a 3am walk that morning, so no injuries.  A shower rack or some Ramen noodles might have been more useful, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.
